BBC Bias: Nigeria

  • nigeria 3BBC downplays Nigeria’s persecuted Christians. The BBC has openly challenged the claim made by  numerous Christian aid organisations over many years (and more recently by Donald Trump) that Christians are being persecuted in Nigeria. Open Doors UK, Release International and Barnabas Aid, among others, have long testified, with detailed supporting evidence, to the anti‐Christian violence meted to believers by Islamist terrorist groups like Boku Haram, Fulani militia, Islamic State West Africa Province, etc. Yet the BBC believes that some of the data being relied on to conclude ‘Christian persecution’ are notoriously difficult to verify. Since many moderate Muslims are also being killed by Islamic groups, the BBC said it was not possible to justify claims that Christians were deliberately being targeted.
  • ‘Undeniably grave situation’ in northern Nigeria. When the BBC, like other western media, bothers to report on violence against Christians in Nigeria at all, it indefensibly refers to ‘clashes’ between Muslim farmers and Christians, as if these are minor brawls for which both sides are equally responsible. In the words of Mike Judge, editor of Evangelical Times, “Yes, the statistics are complex, overlapping violent dynamics of insurgency, herder–farmer conflict, ethnicity, land and religion. The data is hard to verify. Yes, other groups in Nigeria suffer violence too. But it is churlish and morally tone‐deaf for the BBC to jump straight into scepticism of Christian suffering when the preponderance of evidence, relief‐agency testimony and expert judgment point to an undeniably grave situation.” One can only contrast the BBC’s prompt dismissal of ‘genocide’ in Nigeria to its eagerness to use the very same term in regard to the situation in Gaza.

BBC Bias: Trump Election

  • Verified: The BBC is biased. A BBCPanorama Panorama programme, broadcast a week before the US Presidential elections in Nov 2024, doctored a Donald Trump speech by making him appear to encourage the Capitol Hill riot, according to a leaked internal 19-page dossier on BBC bias compiled by a one-time member of the Beeb’s standards committee. It says the BBC “completely misled” viewers by showing the president telling supporters he was going to walk to the Capitol with them to “fight like hell”, when in fact he said he would walk with them “to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard”. The memo claimed senior executives and the BBC’s chairman had ignored and dismissed a string of serious complaints raised by the corporation’s own standards watchdog.
  • Pravda levels of manipulation. Spiked’s Brendan O’Neill said the revelations were beyond serious. These are Pravda levels of manipulation … It is hard to see this as anything other than an intentional twisting of reality to bruise a candidate’s reputation ahead of an election … This incident shatters the BBC’s claim to be the implacable moral foe of misinformation.” The BBC has only spoken minimally about the scandal thus far. Its ‘anti-misinformation’ wing, Verify, has said nothing. The Conservative Woman said it is clear that “the Corporation is not simply biased, but pathologically incapable of recognising or acknowledging its own bias.”

BBC Bias: Israel

  • The BBC knowingly helped spread Hamas lies and hate. The same BBC Arabicleaked report, written by Michael Prescott, former adviser to the BBC’s Editorial Standards Committee, also provides revelations concerning the full extent of bias in the BBC’s coverage of the Israel-Hamas war. It shows extensive anti-Semitic journalism displayed on the BBC Arabic channel (as previously reported in PT). It also exposes how the BBC’s flagship current affairs programme Newsnight highlighted claims that thousands of babies were on the brink of starvation in Gaza when it already knew them to be false. And it charts how BBC News gave extensive coverage to stories that painted Israel as the aggressor while burying stories that contradicted that narrative.
  • Ofcom and government under pressure to investigate BBC Gaza bias. Even the BBC’s own exclusive story that the media had widely misunderstood the International Criminal Court’s ruling on “genocide” in Gaza was buried. Concludes Danny Cohen in his Telegraph article, “That the BBC has helped to push BBC lies around the world and fuelled anti-Semitism at home cannot now be in doubt.” Both the UK Culture Secretary and Ofcom are facing increasing pressure to investigate the BBC for its seemingly overt bias.

BBC Bias: Gender Issues

  • The BBC’s censorship of gender issues. martine-croxallStaff members at the BBC have shared concerns that a 'small group’ of pro-trans staff at the corporation are refusing to cover stories on the topic, insisting on keeping anti-transgender 'perspectives off the air', and thus censoring the BBC’s coverage. According to the leaked Prescott memo, their actions have led to a 'a constant drip-feed of one-sided stories … celebrating the trans experience without adequate balance or objectivity'.
  • BBC comes down on woke-free newsreader. The BBC has ruled that newsreader Martine Croxall broke the corporation’s impartiality rules when her autocue prompted her to warn 'pregnant people' to take care in the heat, and she spontaneously corrected ‘pregnant people’ to ‘women’, with a slight eyebrow raise. The BBC’s Executive Complaints Unit has ruled that her facial expression suggested a 'controversial view about trans people', even though it was clear that ‘pregnant people’, did not match what was said in the interview that followed.  While raising the ire of BBC bosses, Ms Croxall won a legion of new fans and the backing of J.K. Rowling when she rejected the gender-neutral language live on air.

New York Mayoral Election

  • MamdaniMuslim activist wins New York mayoral election. 34-year-old Democratic candidate Zohran Mamdani has been elected mayor of New York City, known as ‘the city of immigrants’, capping a stunning rise for the Shiite Muslim, far-left, anti-Israel activist. Mamdani is known to support a boycott of Israel and has apparently said that he believes Israel has a right to exist - but not as a Jewish state. His rival Andrew Cuomo, received 63% of New York’s Jewish vote, while Mamdani received a striking 33%. He is seen as the most openly anti-Zionist major candidate in New York political history - a city that is home to the largest Jewish population outside Israel, with around 12% of the world’s Jews. Israeli politicians on both sides of the political spectrum have voiced strong concern regarding Mamdani’s win.
  • Panicked New Yorkers desperate to flee after Mamdani's victory. In his acceptance speech, Mamdani said he will “not waver” in combating antisemitism, and that he will serve all New Yorkers, including Jews who didn’t vote for him. Certainly, he was quick to condemn as “disgusting” the painting of a red swastika on a Jewish school in Brooklyn a day after his victory. Yet Mamdani himself has been accused of antisemitism. More than 1,100 rabbis from around America have signed an open letter voicing concern that Mamdani threatens “the safety and dignity of Jews in every city”. Real estate agents are already being bombarded with calls from panicked New Yorkers desperate to flee after his victory. At the same time, conversely, more than 880 other rabbis signed another letter in support of Mamdani – evidence, as Melanie Philips sees it, that many “progressive” left-wing Jews are supporting “an antisemite obsessed with hating Jews and Israel.”
  • Deep concerns over Mamdani‘s beliefs and ties. With alleged links to the Muslim Brotherhood, Mamdani has frequently dodged questions on whether he supports Hamas. Meanwhile, it has emerged that a Muslim civil rights group with “deep ties to terrorist organizations” was one of the biggest single backers to Mamdani’s mayoral campaign. In an in-depth analysis of his policies, The Spectator states its belief that “Zohran Mamdani will destroy New York.” Melanie Phillips said his victory speech was “chilling, angry and divisive, in which he issued a veiled threat that henceforth, any criticism of the Islamic world would not be permitted. Phillips called his election “A dagger pointing at America, at the West and at civilisation itself.” Read more hereherehere and here.

Society and Politics

  • Schools compare Reform Party to Nazis. Teachers at Orion EducationOrion Edu, a chain of schools in England, have been informing Year 10 pupils (14- to 15-year-olds) that Reform comes towards the end of the political spectrum marked ‘Fascism’ – and almost as far to the Right as the BNP. Reform UK has demanded an investigation into the matter, it’s deputy leader, Richard Tice, calling the materialnot only factually inaccurate and grossly offensive but also defamatory in nature.’
  • ‘Blind to their own Left-wing bias’. Pupils were also urged to use “trusted sites like BBC and The Guardian”, being told that news outlets like The Sun and The Daily Mail make “migrants sound like a threat”, which type of reporting “can make people feel afraid or angry.” In a piece titled ‘Anyone who calls Reform ‘extreme’ is simply blind to their own Left-wing bias’, Telegraph columnist Michael Deacon states, “if people feel afraid or angry, I suspect it’s got less to do with the language of tabloids, and rather more to do with dog-walkers getting stabbed to death in the street, Jews getting murdered in attacks on synagogues, and thousands of young girls getting raped by grooming gangs - to give just a few examples.”

World Events

  • The German war machine is now rising again. Under Bunde...radical reforms pushed through by the German Chancellor, Germany is making massive equipment purchases of tanks, artillery, fighter planes and warships costing hundreds of billions of pounds. Overall, Germany spent more than €50bn (£44bn) on arms last year and it has drawn up plans to spend another staggering €377bn on top of this. The historic expansion is set to transform Germany into a load-bearing support of Nato. Chancellor Friedrich Merz has stated overtly he wants Germany to have the strongest conventional army in Europe - in preparation for a potential attack by Russia within the next 4 years. Meanwhile, plans to re-introduce military service in Germany have split the government, as well as public opinion.

Climate Change

  • UK’s International Climate Finance scandal. A seven-month investigation by The Telegraph into how the UK Governmentguyana is spending £11.6bn in International Climate Finance (ICF) has revealed how the public has paid for a £52m road to nowhere through the jungle in Guyana, rusting solar panels on schools in Zimbabwe and condoms in the Congo - all under the guise of climate aid. UK taxpayer money has also been spent on programmes accused of human rights abuses and for solar panels for one of the world’s richest hotel chains. To top it all, a £70m carbon programme, which was due to help the Chinese oil industry, closed without launching a single project. Much of the spending is done amidst considerable secrecy, with little in the way of genuine independent auditing.
  • Climate project that ‘destroyed’ Ugandan villages. Another controversial ICF scheme involved £33m paid to help poor Ugandan farmers deal with the impact of climate change, which in reality saw their crops and homes destroyed in an “inhuman” project that left them “on the brink of starvation”. Local government officials, who were guarded by armed security forces, razed crops, trees and homes in a re-wilding wetland project run by the Green Climate Fund, which has received £2.6bn in UK taxpayers’ money. Ben Pile, a researcher and co-founder of Climate Debate UK, said the aid money is basically a fundwhich the Government has used to push their own agenda via governments of the third world.”

I didn’t ever want to see in print what I have known in my heart, for a long time. It has brought a tear to my eyes. Now what do I do?

Thank God for Germany stepping up its military capability in defence of Europe. Appalling waste of UK tax-payers money on green projects - immoral

Given the reasons for Germany’s reinvestment in its military: Russian aggression, supporting its Polish ally, and uncertainty about the USA’s commitment to NATO, we should remember that it is not the 1930’s.

Indeed, I’d be more more concerned about the USA’s current to-good-to-be-true policy towards Israel.

If ‘peace’ can be bought, it can be sold again.

Now that the top management system of the BBC, what will now follow when top officials have been weighed in the balance and found wanting. Over reporting biased controversial topics such as seen with Donald Trump who is now considering legal action against the corporal organisation. It is expected that the legal fees be will be met by those paying the licence fee, instead by those involved in decision making!  Political persuasion has become toxic, the Royal Family is falling apart, while the clergy have no clue in how to deal with spiritual decline of the so-called Christian Church and the implications of ecumenicalism and the erroneous teachings taking place within together with the heretical statements given that all faiths lead to God, not to mention that the Judgement of God is upon the nation beginning with the house of the Lord, both apparently missing, only said with a whimper and the calling to Repentance and Salvation obsolete for the 21st century.  It is as though the fog descending is becoming thicker while leaderships are at a stand still not knowing in which to turn but blindly playing following whom to follow for a way out, and ignoring what the Bible says regarding the situation. It appears that the Word of God has become meaningless without any consideration and the message of the Gospel dispelled with. The consequences following seems to have been disregarded while the nation looks on, the political thoughts have been clouded, together with Church leaderships unable to lead while playing their roles in the academic source and the subject matter of religion. Hence no sign of unity but division remains at the helm going round in circles causing the bedlam seen. The celebration of Halloween has come to the forefront with its cause and effect due to supply and demand, and from next year, will be celebrated for weeks on end rather than a few days, while Christmas and Easter will be down graded for the Christian calendar so that other religions can be included and be high lighted on equal terms. And yet, church hierarchies fail to question these decisions, turn a blind eye, and accept that these decisions are from the Lord God Almighty due to multi cultism and multi faith concept that lies behind it. Maranatha!
